Chapter 349: Pursuers

Chapter 349: Pursuers

"How\'s his condition?" Compass Carburettor asked upon seeing Grisha heal Ranze.

"It\'s stable." Grisha replied, "I\'m replenishing his lost blood now. He should be waking up anytime soon. What are you planning to do with him now?"

"I\'ll observe him." Compass Carburettor said, "If he\'s like the protagonist of a cultivation novel, his luck and fate should be tremendous. We can take advantage of that."

They were conversing through telepathy, exercising secrecy just in case. It was better to be cautious than to regret it later.

Compass Carburettor then plucked a nearby vine, loosely tying Ranze\'s body to the trunk of a tree. He then flew away for a minute, soon returning with two Origin Beasts that seemed like they had barely begun their cultivation.

One was a deer-type Origin Beast that he killed and dropped three metres before Ranze. As for the second Origin Beast, it looked similar to a baboon, one that he dropped next to the deer. It was alive, trembling in fear upon gazing at Compass Carburettor.

He didn\'t do anything to it beyond that, watching Grisha nod at him to signal that she had finished healing Ranze. After sending her into the Dimensional Space, he flew away from the location, stopping once he was two hundred metres away.

Through the Spydragon on Ranze\'s clothes, he was able to see and hear what Ranze was experiencing.

The baboon continued to tremble in fear for a couple of minutes before the scent of blood from the deer caused it to drool. It didn\'t hesitate for long after that, pouncing upon the deer\'s flesh, devouring it.

It was now that Ranze woke up, feeling groggy when he heard the biting sounds of the baboon tearing through the deer\'s flesh while breaking the bones.

\'Was I ambushed by this Origin Beast?\' Ranze immediately noticed that he was bound to the trunk of the tree, also observing the same vine coiled around the deer\'s legs too, \'That\'s how it captured us.\'

He cautiously inched his hand towards the spatial pouch, sighing in relief when it was still there, stealthily taking out a knife that he used to cut the vine binding him. He then took out a tiny packet that he tossed towards the baboon, startling it.

The baboon dodged the throw, watching the packet crash into the antlers of the deer and explode. The packet was filled with pepper powder that he had filtered to make the grains as fine as possible.

This way, once the packet exploded, the pepper powder would spread around like smoke, that which it did now, turning the baboon\'s eyes red as it whimpered away in pain.

Ranze hurriedly moved away from the place, thanking his lucky stars as he noticed that his clothes were bloody, "Dammit, that deer\'s blood had fallen on me."

What he hadn\'t known was that it was all his blood.

He ran for a hundred metres before hiding behind a large tree, summoning his brick to see the map displayed over it. The map on the brick was like a GPS, displaying his current location and the route he had to take to reach the core of the region while encountering the least Origin Beasts.

"These are all…Origin Beasts?" Ranze muttered, observing white dots of various sizes around him, followed by some yellow dots scattered around. Finally, there was an orange dot closer to the core of the area.

After some observation, he found out that white dots conformed to Origin Refinement Stage Origin Beasts, yellow conformed to Martial Origin Stage Origin Beasts, and orange conformed to Martial Providence Stage Origin Beasts.

Similarly, when he probed with it in the Giant Whale Sect, he saw that the equivalent of humans was blue, green, and dark green coloured dots. And, the bigger the dot, the stronger the respective person/Origin Beast.

Other than that, mortals were represented by red.

"But, what is this? It\'s…black." He frowned, noticing a black dot situated two hundred metres behind him, an incomparably large dot, bigger than all the orange dots he was able to notice.

It caused him to feel nervous as he turned around immediately. But due to the mist, he wasn\'t able to see anything beyond ten metres, troubled by what he was seeing on the brick.

When he was looking through the Martial Spirits he was eligible to obtain, this brick was what shocked him the most. Because, its aura was even stronger than Heaven Martial Spirits. That was why he had picked it.

And now, that brick was showing him the position of all his enemies, including the map of the place, allowing him to plan his actions perfectly. \'But, I cannot fight anyone. I must first obtain that Ancient Adhesive.\'

He frowned soon after, noticing a group of blue dots, accompanied by a green dot at the front heading towards him.

Upon seeing that, Ranze immediately took a different route, unwilling to encounter any people here, frowning upon seeing the group taking turns accordingly to stay right on his heels, \'Their target is me.\'

Realising it, his face paled while anger began to rise up from within him, \'What\'s their purpose? Why are they targeting me?\'

"He\'s there!" Soon after, the group had closed enough until Ranze heard the shout from one of them. Even before that, he came to know their position through the brick, taking out multiple packets as he threw them around him.

The packets slammed into the trunks of the trees, exploding to spread out pepper smoke, soon causing his chasers to begin coughing violently.

"He noticed us! Don\'t let him escape." Helk covered his mouth, shouting as his men spread around.

"Dammit!" Ranze scowled as he looked at the brick, observing their positions as he noticed a yellow dot situated close by, \'A Martial Origin Stage Origin Beast. That should buy me enough time.\'

He changed directions abruptly and dashed towards that Origin Beast, taking out another pepper packet that he threw with all his might, slamming it near the Origin Beast, alerting it.

It resembled a wolf, but possessed protruding teeth like a sabretooth tiger, howling as it leapt towards him, affected by the pepper dust he had unleashed.

Ranze waited until the wolf drew closer before taking in a deep breath as he took out a pepper packet and slammed it into the ground next to his feet, using the resultant dust as a cover to run away.

The wolf stopped abruptly, unwilling to inhale the pepper dust as it growled in anger, immediately noticing a group of people running nearby. Thinking that they too were from the same group as the bastard that had harmed it, the wolf leapt towards the closest person, biting his neck as it unleashed its power, killing him.

"Eighth brother is dead! It\'s a Claw Wolf!" One of the pursuers shouted as everyone was alerted.
