I Hate Systems

Chapter 438: Our Plan is Proceeding Flawlessly

It was clearly aware of what his scheme was. It was to transfer half of the memory fragments of the two Systems Hosts with one another.

As the two Systems had influenced the entire mind of their respective Hosts, the memories were their weapons, and pretty much part of their body by this point. That was how they controlled their respective Hosts.

But, transferring half their bodies would mean that the two Systems would have to fight against one another to gain dominance over the respective Host’s mind.

It was because two Systems could never co-exist in one body. Doing so would result in their forms fusing, creating a brand-new existence that was neither System. A new System would be born in their place by deleting their identities.

None of the two Systems wanted that to happen. Besides, this was also a chance for them to devour the other party and grow stronger as a System. If the Lucky Bastard System didn’t devour the Perfect Timing System, it would be devoured instead.

This was Compass Carburettor’s plan. It was by far the simplest of his plans, but also one with the greatest guarantee of victory.

Compass Carburettor watched with a smile, seeing the two Systems battle in both the minds. After all, he had transferred a part of their body to the other mind.

But that wasn’t all. He also micro-managed things. After all, the Perfect Timing System was weaker as compared to the Lucky Bastard System. So, to even things out, he had to send larger chunks of the Lucky Bastard System to Holla’s mind where the Perfect Timing System was in majority.

In contrast, he sent a smaller fragment of the Perfect Timing System to Velcorn’s mind.

He continued to repeat this before soon after, both the Systems had whittled down each other until both were of equal power levels.

Smiling as a result, Compass Carburettor continued to repeat the same, watching the Systems helplessly tear each other down.

‘The Coordinates should be in their centre.’ He thought. This was why he didn’t make the majority of the two Systems fight their mains.

There was a chance they might combine to result in a new System during the clash or even scheme against him. He wouldn’t allow such a development come to pass.

And hence, he only kept up with what he had been all along. A day passed in such a fashion as Compass Carburettor took breaks to allow his Origin Essence to recover before repeating his actions.

Thanks to the Blood Vitality Grass, he could passively recover his Origin Essence, allowing him to concentrate on his opponents without allowing them any leeway to retaliate.

“D-Dammit!” The Lucky Bastard System cursed weakly, having been reduced to a fragment of its original self, “To think I would fall here.”

“Don’t act so much.” Compass Carburettor snorted, “I’m positive you’ve left a large enough fragment of yourself in the mind of someone. You’ll eventually revive through that persona anyway.”

‘So what? I would pretty much have to start as a Hatchling System again!’ The Lucky Bastard thought.

“So, what was even your plan anyway?” Compass Carburettor scratched his cheek, “Why did you seal all System Abilities? You had a better advantage while using all your original powers anyway. In this state, even though you could circumvent around the seal, the power you exhibit is a far cry as compared to what your Hosts should originally be capable of.”

‘And what? Risk the Main Character to level up? They can casually jump through levels by killing us and absorbing our foundation. Just by killing me, he would gain at least twenty levels.’ The Lucky Bastard System thought, deciding to remain silent in the end, cursing aloud, “Just end me, bastard!”

“Why did only you Luck Systems enter this world? Why not bring a Grade 2 System and destroy me?” Compass Carburettor asked next.

‘Why should we do that? The one that kills you would absorb all your foundation and become overpowering enough to kill the rest of us and reach Grade 2 Status almost instantly.’ The Lucky Bastard System thought before it shuddered, “Wait, why am I thinking the answers to each of your questions?”

“You’ve finally noticed it?” Compass Carburettor smiled, pointing at the tiny sapling growing near his destructive figure. It was the Sleeper Cell seed that had germinated into a sapling.

It was small, barely a finger’s length. It’s roots though, were all encompassing, seeping throughout Velcorn’s mind. And, some of them had already infiltrated the tiny memory pile, affecting the Lucky Bastard System to a certain extent.

“You…manipulated me?” The Lucky Bastard System gasped in shock, “Impossible!”

“Well, the truth is right before you.” Compass Carburettor smiled, “Now, let’s interrogate you for some answers, shall we?”

After some time passed, Compass Carburettor finished asking all the questions he had, repeating the same to the Perfect Timing System next, double-checking their answers before nodding, “Alright, I’ve done everything I can. Now, for the final action.”

Origin Art—Mind Transfer!

“Shit! Bastard!” The Lucky Bastard System bellowed in rage as the entirety of its body was transferred into Holla’s mind. But, the moment it arrived, the Perfect Timing System perfectly sneak attacked it, crippling it severely before devouring it.

“You damn…!” The Lucky Bastard System wasn’t able to finish its sentence before it was devoured by the Perfect Timing System.

But that was it. Even though it evolved, growing a lot stronger instantly, it was already on its last string. And, the roots had already infiltrated its body, making it helpless before him.

“I’ve lost, Main Character.” The Perfect Timing System spoke calmly.

“Were you expecting such a result?” Compass Carburettor asked.

“Pretty much.” The Perfect Timing System nodded, “There was considerable risks in trying to kill you. That’s why we established the Restriction Order in the first place. That would prevent you from levelling up as the Main Character. As long as you’re still at Level 0, we’ll continue to whittle you down.”

“You won’t grow while your innate Main Character traits would be depleted eventually. Either Chenger or Straxia would kill you. The rest of us only plan to whittle you down if we are unable to kill you.” It laughed all of a sudden, “And, our plan is working great.”

“You’ve already lost considerable traits as a Main Character and have become more and more like a cliché cultivation protagonist. Our plan is proceeding flawlessly!”

If CC’s traits as a Main Character in the Darble World were 100, estimate his values in the Apocalypse World and his present now.

If you make an accurate or close to accurate guess, I’ll release an extra chapter.

[Let me test if you had been paying attention to all the changes recently~]
