Chapter 656: In My Past (part 21)

Khun spewed out a destructive bolt of energy, vaporising the majority of the people in Tookh Village.

“A Dragon?” The survivors stared, pale-faced, for Dragons were too rare. They typically holed up in their respective territory and never ventured beyond that. Even the Demon Race never dared set foot in the Dragon territory, simply because of one reason.

The power of their profession made them overpowered beings.

The Dragon Race had two Main Professions: Destruction Incarnate and Divinity Incarnate.

A Destruction Incarnate had abilities that allowed them to engage in mass slaughter like it was child’s play. All their powers were geared toward one thing: Destruction.

In contrast, a Divinity Incarnate didn’t have any offensive abilities but powers similar to a Conjurer. But, the extent of their power was only limited to nature. The reason they were overpowered was that a Divinity Incarnate could establish himself as the lord of a region.

And, that very region itself would become their domain, their sphere of influence, a place where nature itself reacts based on their will.

Basically, a Dragon could establish itself as the God of a territory. And, a Divinity Incarnate was almost impossible to kill. Only if the region they protect itself is razed to the ground would it become possible to kill them.

Otherwise, even if their Dragon bodies were to be killed, they would simply revive in a few years.

And unlike the other races, all Dragons wielded the power of both professions. Hence, they were overpowered, unkillable deities blessed with a terrifyingly long lifespan.

But because of that, their fertility was also the lowest among all races. A Dragon might at most have an offspring in a millennium. So, they had a small population.

As a Dragon, Khun was plenty strong. In terms of sheer destructive power alone, he was on the level of a Pseudo-Saint.

And with him taking action, the army stationed in Tookh Village was annihilated. The rest simply constricted the Grandmasters among the group until Khun’s destructive attacks landed on them.

“Are you dead?” Zaira landed before a bloody figure of Gilthru, asking as she appeared somewhat nonchalant.

“Not…yet.” Gilthru’s voice resounded. He was lying atop the bodies of a Birdmen Witch and a Stone Ogre Warlock, having barely managed to kill them. Though, he was on the verge of death.

If he wasn’t given proper attention, he would die immediately after.

“You still have work to do. Get up!” She kicked him lightly, pouring the contents of a few potions in his mouth, watching his wounds heal.

She then fed him a mana recovery potion, gazing at the rest of the gang arrive, giving them some potions too.

There was a bag of potions that she brought with her by keeping it in Khun’s back during flight. And before they attacked the Tooth Village, she buried the bag in a discrete location nearby.

Having noted down the spatial coordinates of the place, she used her Space Magic to take out the potions whenever she wanted. As the location was close enough, she didn’t have to waste much mana to bring in the potions every time.

Once everyone recovered, they quickly made their way underground as the Elf reminded them to be alert, “The fate is converging…”

“It makes sense,” Zaira said all of a sudden as she teleported them all into the underground place right when Yela’s transformation was completed. The ambush prepared by the Mermen Queen failed as they simply bypassed everything.

“Attack!” She announced, condensing multiple portals throughout the place as fiery red arrows flickering with lightning slammed into the portals, slamming dead centre onto her targets.

The Bards had only just begun to sing when the throats of all were pierced, causing them to collapse to the ground, unable to sing anymore.

The Mermaid Queen transformed into a bulky slime, only suffering a flesh wound. And when she reverted to her Mermaid form, the wound was only a small injury on her stomach, nothing serious.

She was using her transformations to reduce damage from the attacks to her vital spots before uttering a scream that suddenly caused a headache for everyone.

“Break!” Arnark grunted as immediately, the effect of the attack subsided to a tolerable level on every one.

Boom!

Gilthru was sent flying by the Pseudo-Saint Magic Beast as Tirb Felera stared calmly, not displaying an ounce of hesitation even after his place was invaded.

All he did was approach Yela and turn her into his Tamed Beast. Now, both the sisters were his Tamed Beasts.

He had four Pseudo-Saint Magic Beasts to protect him, not to mention the Pseudo-Saint Mermaid Queen that could amplify the powers of everyone and weaken their foes. Considering how his enemies were only Grandmasters, he wasn’t flustered.

‘Even if they had relied on potions to recover, they’ve yet to make a full recovery. They are all exhausted.’ He smiled, observing their actions when suddenly, he flinched, feeling bouts of fear as he made eye contact with Zaira.

Zaira didn’t seem usual, despite her appearance being that of a thirteen-year-old human girl. She strangely seemed like an…enlightened heavenly being?

“Who…” He muttered, flinching when Zaira raised her arm.

Immediately, the air seemed to cool down all of a sudden as the surroundings felt dark. Everyone felt a mild headache, feeling their heads spin while their thoughts came to a halt. It wasn’t just the enemies that were feeling this, but the allies too.

The Elf stared at the sky, observing the massive spheres of fate change directions and flow into Zaira, shocking her, ‘W-What is happening now? How is this possible?’

Currently, Zaira was stealing the fate of others.

Others couldn’t observe what she was actually doing. Only in her vision was a swirling stream of Mental Energy visible, condensed on her outstretched palm as she clenched.

Gah!

Tirb Felera spat out blood in reflex as all his Tamed Beasts suddenly lost their connection to him. Alarmed, he stared at Zaira, noticing that the area of her palm seemed to be blurry for some reason.

But, before he could understand what had happened, blood flooded out of his orifices as he collapsed to the ground, dead.

Zaira thought slowly, staring at the mysterious power churning within the Mental Energy vortex, placing it on her forehead as it was absorbed by her mind, ‘Since you sought it, I’ll help you.’
