“Oh no, we’re surrounded,” Scarlet New Moon called for help in the team channel.

Lu Li and the others went over and found that Scarlet New Moon had somehow, without notice, fallen into a circle of Diseased Wolves. Wanting to break through the circle of them was bound to startle at least one of them.

“Seems like they subconsciously surrounded you. You have really bad luck,” Caine’s Left Hand laughed.

“The density of Wolves is higher here, so it must be nearby,” Lu Li said as he looked up and saw something over to the side. He grabbed out a piece of fresh lizard meat and threw it into the run-down house nearby. This type of lizard was widely distributed around the Ice-Sealed Mountain and would often be killed by soldiers for a better meal. Grilled Lizard was a special delicacy here at the Ice-Sealed Mountain.

Diseased Wolves could not resist this type of bloody fresh meat. They did not only eat corpses, as there weren’t many available.

The Cursed Disciples would hunt for meat to maintain the strength of these Diseased Wolves.

These wolves blindly ran into the run-down house. Lu Li turned around in a flash and closed the broken door that looked like it was crumbling already. Even though it looked like it could rot away at any time, it could at least buy some time to stop these wolves from coming out.

“There’s not much time; this door won’t hold long,” Lu Li said, then urged everyone to bring over some rocks and wood to block the door.

The other players also farmed for fresh lizard meat, then went off to entice these wolves and locked them into other nearby houses.

The process was thrilling and a little troublesome, but it was relatively easier than killing them one by one.

Lu Li and the others found the Camp of the Cursed Disciples. Originally, this was meant to be the church of this small town, but it had now become a place of rituals for the Disciples. From an external observation, only a small number of Cursed Disciples could be seen, but no one knew what was actually going on in there.

As such, Lu Li decided for the others to wait first while he went to search the place.

If it was just Lu Li on his own, he wouldn’t have to be so careful. He was able to travel through the sea, the land and the air after all. He only needed to transform into a Crow and fly into the sky to see what was going on at the church’s centre.

He landed on the roof top and peered through a crack. A large pot in the middle of the church was boiling with green liquid that had a pungent stench.

Over the pot hung a human who was constantly struggling.

There were a few swaying Undead around it. Their flesh was still basically intact, and their faces were not much different from a normal human’s. Clearly, they had just been turned.

Several Cursed Disciples in robes were adding things to the pot. One of them was taking notes with a pen on parchment, which was probably their ritual or experiment.

Even though he was in a game, Lu Li’s blood froze at the sight of this.

They were obviously using human for plague experiments. The pot in the middle was definitely not a delicious or tasty meal.

Lu Li observed the situation and very quickly figured out who were the enemies that he and his group were facing. The Cursed Disciples outside needed to be eliminated first, otherwise, they could rush in and help if there was a battle inside the church.

There was a total of eight Cursed Disciples inside the room to deal with. Three of them were adding ingredients into the pot and one was recording the experiment data, while the other four were holding wands to guide the magic in the pot.

If luck was on their side, the eight Cursed Disciples could be split into two batches, in the hope that the four guiding the magic would be too concentrated on what they were doing.

Apart from them were those dozens of Undead. According to Lu Li’s report, these Undead were not enough to pose as a lethal threat. However, if left alone, they would become troublesome too. As for the guy hanging over the pot, Lu Li guessed that he would still be on the human side for now. He looked mentally awake after all.

“Prepare to come and kill some monsters. Let’s first get rid of those four free-moving Cursed Disciples,” Lu Li said after he described to the others about the church’s internal situation.

There was no need to wait; there wouldn’t be an opportunity as good as this again. Plus, Lu Li had a great idea come to him as he saw the guy hanging above the pot being steamed.

With a line-up like Lu Li and his team, it was impossible for someone to draw aggro. They were all Thieves – the profession known as the ‘King of Control’. Four Thieves gave the four Cursed Disciples a staggering blow, then lunged towards the other four Disciples who had stopped their magic guiding.

Lu Li gave his target a Blind, then jumped up and ran straight at the struggling human above the pot. He cut off the rope that hung him and pulled him into a safe spot, then forced a potion into him.

This was taken out of the potions that Ashram Varofest had given him. Apparently, they could treat the plague.

Lu Li didn’t have time to watch the effects of the medicine because the situation of his teammates was at stake.

The level of these Cursed Disciples was not low; they had high HP and high resistance too. Each of the other Thieves had to deal with two or more Cursed Disciples, and a dozen other Undead monsters were slowly closing in on them.

If it hadn’t been for their slow movement speed, the situation would have been much worse.

Cursed Disciples had high attack; one attack could deal a quarter of everyone’s HP. Lu Li was once again lucky he had brought extra supplies with him.

Lu Li stopped a Cursed Disciple and yelled as he fought it, “Everyone look out with blocking! Innocent Bro, watch everyone’s HP and be careful yourself! If you can’t hold on, just save yourself. At the worst, we can just run for it.”

He was rather worried about losing members here. With so many Undead around, he and Innocent Child just didn’t have any chance to use their Resurrect skill.

Rain of Chaos!

This was the AOE skill of Cursed Disciples and was similar to that of a Mage’s Blizzard. On average, it would not hurt as much as a single skill, but the deceptive part was that it restore give HP to monsters. Lu Li suddenly felt that the difficulty of this quest had doubled.

“Let’s retreat first; we can’t keep going at this head on,” Innocent Child suggested. He was running all over the place healing everyone, and at times, was even trying to hide from the surrounding Undead monsters.

Lu Li was not willing to, but he knew that there was a necessary change in the strategy needed.

As he was about to signal for retreat, the situation suddenly turned around.

The person lying on the floor had jumped up.
